Bleached

To understand and connect to multiple selves, is to objectively be aware of another’s perception and perspective.

Assimilation cannot occur without time. With time, we gain an awareness to the phenomena, and through observation it’s perception. This becomes present for us as we imagine, allowing us to feel our connection that is becoming understandable. The ability to imagine being our building blocks to unlocking a new subjective awareness to the phenomena’s encircling and forming us.

I used material from Los Angeles, CA. To create a 3 layered Chlorophyll Print, in the same city, I exposed the organic material, using the sun’s rays with a photographic negative on top. I bleach the imagery into the leaves. Then archive it with a copper sulfate, and baking soda bath. Finishing with a UV protection varnish. The imagery is set up vertically in 3 glass panels.  Depending on how you shift your position, your perspective changes.

I combined a self portrait with the study of the environments self, (Aloe Plant Leaves) exposure was from 8am-6pm.
