Annotation:
Chandler begins to explain the basis of signification. A process we imagine all the time. How we identify objects and make assumptions about them. These “imaginations” direct our experience; But they also direct all other phenomenons. We all have subjective and objective perspectives. This source was essential to my understanding of these categorizations. (words, images, sounds, objects etc.) Firstly, understanding our own, then other perspectives.

I want to start with his introduction. “At some point in our lives, most of us have looked at the sky and used our imagination to spot clouds that bear fanciful resemblances to animals, people, or things. This is one very familiar example of how imagination can enter into our experience of the natural world.” What if these objects weren’t noticed? What if they started to become structured? Change? Would we notice our experience changing? I think this is a perfect example of how our experience occurs. The point is to have an awareness of the material objects that affect and change our experience.

Annotation:
This source focuses on the term Anthropocene. Referring to the time period In which humans have been the dominant influence on the climate and environment. This word was used as a message to create change. Change in our experience with nature. Supposedly wake us up to our current relationship. I thought this was an interesting past example to study and understand its process over time. To help understand how the objects in my own day to day change me. I wanted to start understanding these things and then use this awareness to begin understanding others perspectives.
